well i have just had a travelling traveller made for the moor, im just wondering if i add my email to it, do you think people would tell me were they left it, i.e what tor?? or do you think it is just to much to ask?

I love that idea so much.

Where do all the moving boxes go? The catalogue has hundreds of moving boxes listed, and I have just found a couple in a year. I could have gotten good odds on only finding 2 in 12 months.

If I found your travelling traveller, I'd email you, and I'd like to know where it goes after me.

How does everyone else find moving boxes?

There's only one way to find a moving box, PURE LUCK ?
I've letterboxed for about 15 years off and on and found maybe 10 to 15 in all that time out of a collection in excess of over 4500 true moorland collected stamps ( not meet or other places of interest)

We have/did have a travelling box on the Moor and I added an email address to try and track it's progress.

It did work! Got emails from a few people who found it and moved it around but the emails stopped about 2 years ago so i'm guessing it's since dissapeared.....

I can remember the days when a moving box visited the DPOSC on a meet day - it was the fastest thing around the room - but I have not found a moving box for a very very long time now.

And if anyone finds my "I wandered lonely as a cloud" I would like it back

I have found hardly any, but a couple of years ago I found one that had travelled over from America! That had an e-mail address and I updated the owner on progress though I suspect it's long odds on getting home!

Ten years ago?

WITC wrote 'its been nearly two years!'
I wonder what response this was to, since the only question I see was from MW to Nik.

Then later Nik responds as 10 years.

:D I see what you mean TWA!
To confirm: It had been 1 year and 11 months (thats nearly 2 years) since the Moorland Wizard and WITC traded comments about a Travelling traveler stamp. See the Opening Posts. I was just curious about it's progress...
I had no intention of interrupting the conversation between MW and Nik, about a completely different long lost box. But that particular chat was way overdue a reply anyway - until today!

Hope this explains all.

if you look at the conversations between me and nik, they stop and start over time, then we go back to them , lolololololololol

surprised, no ones started "spring meet 2011, who's going ?"
